Aluminum Fabricator

Position Summary:

Welder/Fabricator is responsible for complete fabrication, assembly & welding of raw steel & aluminum into manufactured bodies. Included, but not limited to, cutting & forming raw materials into parts, welding parts together, reading & understanding build sheets & standard work instructions for the various products we manufacture.

Position Responsibilities:

Welding steel and aluminum
Measuring and cutting raw materials to specifications
Assess welded surfaces, structures and components for flaws

Qualifications & Requirements:

Ability to read and interpret build sheets and work instructions
Ability to work overtime and varied shift assignments if necessary
All Welders are required to wear a form of respirator. Successful completion of pre-employment respirator testing is required.

Education / Certifications

High School diploma or GED preferred
Internal or External Weld Certification required

Experience:

Welding - may be required to MIG, TIG, or Fluxcore Welding (Steel and Aluminum)
Manufacturing industry or background experience preferred
Tier 2 = 3-6 yrs. | Tier 3 = 7-10 yrs. | Tier 4 = 10+ yrs with consideration of level of welding capability and complexity of work

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to hold and use Weld gun in vertical, lateral, and overhead positions.
Ability to pass Steel Weld Test
Ability to pass tape measure testing

Work environment:

Automotive repair shop atmosphere

Ability to work in uncontrolled weather conditions (Heat/Cold)
Ability to stand for 8-10 hours
Frequent bending, standing, crouching, lifting, walking, use of hands & arms
Must be able to wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE)
