Description:
EXPERIENCED STRUCTURAL COMBO WELDER
Lofton Staffing is seeking a skilled Structural Combo Welder with proven experience in MIG (GMAW), and Flux Core (FCAW) welding.
This is a shop-based structural fabrication role working with aluminum and carbon steel. This is not an entry-level position.
REQUIRED WELD TESTS (ALL MUST PASS)
Candidates must successfully pass:
- 2G Aluminum Plate Test - MIG (GMAW)
- Flux Core (FCAW) Weld Test on Mild Steel
- Perform structural welding on aluminum (6061, 5052) and carbon/mild steel
- Fit and fabricate parts using blueprints and shop drawings
- Read and interpret Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
- Measure and lay out materials accurately
- Operate fabrication equipment (grinders, torches, band saws, cranes, forklifts)
- Maintain high quality standards and productivity
- Follow all shop safety requirements and PPE guidelines
- 2+ years of Flux Core (FCAW) welding on mild steel
- 2+ years of MIG (GMAW) structural welding
- Proven structural fitting experience
- Experience welding aluminum plate
- Ability to read blueprints without supervision
- Ability to lift 50-80 lbs
- Reliable transportation
- Must pass drug screen and background check
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Industrial fabrication shop
- Exposure to overhead cranes and forklifts
- Moderate to loud noise
- Non-climate-controlled environment
- $24-$28 per hour
- Full-time hours
- Temp-to-hire with long-term potential
- Stable, production-based fabrication environment
