Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Orbital Welder to join our team. You will be responsible for setting up and operating the orbital welding system according to established procedures. Your role will involve working from blueprints and approved drawings, preparing tubing and fittings, and ensuring high-quality assembly and inspection of components.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate the orbital welding system as per established procedures.
- Work from blueprints and approved drawings to guide the welding process.
- Cut and prepare all tubing and fittings used in the welding operation.
- Perform setup of the welding system and ensure it is calibrated accurately.
- Assemble and calibrate liquid controllers and systems as required.
- Inspect all completed assemblies using the borescope inspection system.
- Maintain an adequate supply of spare parts for the welding system.
- Ensure the work area is kept clean and organized.
- Maintain a detailed file of all work records.
Essential Skills
- Certification from a formal orbital weld training program.
- 3+ years of experience in orbital welding.
- Airframe and power plant (A&P) license.
- Experience with TIG welding and clean room operations.
- Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with sheet metal, robotic welding, and carbon steel.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools and tape measures.
- Knowledge of welding inspection and quality control.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted.
- Physical capability to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces.

Work Environment
This position is based in an indoor production facility with a schedule of days (6 AM - 6 PM, Mon - Fri, every other Saturday) and nights (6 PM - 6 AM, Mon - Fri, every other Saturday) with a $2 differential for night shifts.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr.
