Job Description & How to Apply Below
Our client is looking for a forward-thinking Manufacturing Manager to lead production operations across our high-volume switchboard assembly lines. In this pivotal role, you will oversee a team of 50+ production staff, driving throughput, quality, safety, and workforce development while optimizing equipment performance and reporting key metrics to senior leadership. If you're passionate about building scalable processes, leading people, and making a measurable impact, this is your opportunity to grow into a future Director of Operations.
What You’ll Do:- Oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring quality, timely delivery, and alignment with UL-891 standards.
- Manage production scheduling, equipment maintenance, and labor planning across a dynamic, high-growth environment.
- Implement lean manufacturing strategies to maximize throughput, reduce downtime, and improve efficiency.
- Leverage Global Shop Solutions (GSS) ERP and Excel to analyze production KPIs, workforce performance, and cycle time trends.
- Prepare weekly reports and dashboards for senior leadership, enabling data‑driven decisions.
- Support headcount planning, organizational design, and capacity forecasting, distinct from material or design responsibilities.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, and the President to streamline production support while maintaining role clarity across departments.
- Participate in capital projects, such as facility expansion and new product lines, through production-focused analytics.
- Ensure safety compliance, lead quality audits, and engage external consultants to support continuous improvement.
- Mentor supervisors and team leads, creating a scalable, high-performing workforce.
- Design a lean production org chart and staffing structure for long-term growth.
- Support a culture of safety, ownership, and operational excellence.
- 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, with 5+ years overseeing teams in $100M+ operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (Master’s or Lean Six Sigma certification preferred).
- Deep understanding of lean manufacturing, OSHA/UL compliance, and workforce optimization.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, Power Query, macros) and ERP reporting (preferably GSS).
- Proven success managing 50+ staff, improving throughput, quality, and employee engagement.
- Strong communication and strategic thinking abilities, with a collaborative leadership style.
