We are seeking a detail-oriented and execution-driven Supply Chain Planner to support material planning and production coordination for components, subassemblies, and top-level assemblies. This role plays a critical part in ensuring material availability, production schedule alignment, and on-time delivery while balancing capacity, inventory levels, and supplier performance. The Supply Chain Planner operates in an ERP/MRP-driven manufacturing environment and serves as a key link between Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, and external suppliers.

Key Responsibilities Production & Material Planning
  • Develop and maintain production plans across components, subassemblies, and finished assemblies
  • Generate and manage Purchase Orders and Work Orders using ERP/MRP data
  • Ensure material availability to meet customer demand and production schedules
  • Identify and resolve material shortages impacting assemblies or shipments
  • Adjust plans based on demand shifts, engineering changes, and capacity constraints
Component & Assembly Coordination
  • Plan multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs) including machined components, coatings, and final assemblies
  • Coordinate internally manufactured and externally processed parts (e.g., heat treatment, coatings)
  • Manage shared components across multiple product lines
  • Prioritize production sequencing based on material readiness and inventory levels
Inventory Management
  • Monitor inventory levels for components and subassemblies
  • Maintain safety stock and reorder parameters
  • Drive reduction of excess and obsolete inventory
  • Support cycle counts and inventory accuracy initiatives
Supplier & Schedule Management
  • Collaborate with suppliers to mitigate delays and support expediting efforts
  • Monitor supplier lead times and performance
  • Release and prioritize work orders aligned with operational capacity
  • Partner with Operations to resolve bottlenecks and capacity constraints
Engineering & Product Support
  • Implement engineering changes affecting revisions and BOM updates
  • Support new product development, prototype builds, and product rollouts
  • Manage component and assembly life cycles
Systems & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate planning parameters and lead times in ERP
  • Develop and monitor reports related to schedule adherence, shortages, and inventory performance
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of production or supply chain planning experience in industrial manufacturing (oil & gas preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of MRP and production scheduling; experience with multi-level BOMs required
  • ERP experience required (Net Suite preferred)
  • Experience in oil & gas tool manufacturing and outside processing coordination preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard business systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound decision-making ability
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Execution-focused with a strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain impacts and customer needs

Physical Demands:
This job is a mostly sedentary role; however, moderate physical activity is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach, carry, pull, lift, or otherwise move objects up to 50 pounds. Employees are also required to talk and listen.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office/field/shop environment. The noise level is moderate and in a well-lit area. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
