PDS Tech is hiring skilled Gas Turbine & Compressor Assembly Technicians in Houston, TX to support the assembly, disassembly, and testing of complex rotating equipment. This is a hands‑on, high‑skill role for technicians who value precision, craftsmanship, and long‑term career stability.

Position Details- Company: PDS Tech
- Location: Houston, TX
- Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- Pay Rate: Up to $34.48/hour (based on experience)
- Employment Type: Temp-to-Perm
This is not basic assembly work. You’ll be supporting large‑scale turbo machinery builds where sequencing, accuracy, and independent judgment matter.
- Assemble and disassemble gas turbines, compressors, gearboxes, and auxiliary systems
- Perform precision mechanical assembly to tight tolerances (±0.001”)
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
- Install bearings, seals, rotors, couplings, piping, and structural components
- Perform alignment, leveling, torqueing, and fit‑up
- Use precision measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and torque equipment
- Support equipment testing and troubleshooting during build and teardown
- Identify non‑conforming parts and coordinate with Quality and Engineering
- Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment
- Maintain clean, organized, and safety‑compliant work areas
- Assist in training and supporting less experienced technicians as needed
- 3+ years of mechanical assembly experience (rotating equipment strongly preferred)
- Experience with gas turbines, compressors, pumps, or heavy industrial machinery
- Strong understanding of mechanical tolerances, fits, and alignment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Comfortable working with large components and lifting equipment
- Strong safety mindset and attention to detail
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
- Turbo machinery or rotating equipment background
- Experience in power generation, oil & gas, or heavy industrial environments
- Rigging or crane operation experience
- Experience working alongside Engineering, Quality, or Test teams
