Location: Northeast Houston

Pay: $22.00–$24.00 per hour

Openwork is partnering with a respected manufacturer specializing in premium steel and aluminum bar grating, and we’re looking for experienced Structural Fitters to join their 3rd shift team. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering competitive pay, weekly pay, steady hours, and long-term potential.

3rd Shift: 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM. Overtime available based on production needs.

A required fit-up test will be conducted during the on-site interview.

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
• Measure, mark, cut, grind, and prepare steel components.
• Fit and tack weld materials according to specifications.
• Assemble grating panels, stair treads, frames, and related products.
• Safely operate forklifts, hoists, and overhead cranes.
• Inspect assemblies to ensure dimensional accuracy within 1/8” tolerance.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area.
• Collaborate with welders and supervisors to meet production goals.

• 3–5 years of experience as a structural fitter, fabricator, or similar manufacturing role.
• Strong blueprint reading and welding symbol interpretation skills.
• Proficiency with hand tools, grinders, cutting torches, and measuring devices.
• Forklift and crane experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
• Successful completion of the fit-up test at the site interview.

• $22.00–$24.00 per hour based on experience.
