Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineering
This position is responsible for developing and optimizing programs for flat sheet and tube metal fabrication — including laser cutting, press brake, and other fabrication processes. The position collaborates closely with production teams to ensure efficient, accurate, and manufacturing results.
KEYJOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create, modify, and maintain 2D and 3D CAD models, flat patterns, and CAM programs for laser and fabrication equipment
Generate and optimize CNC programs for laser cutting (flat and tube), punching, and bending operations using BySoft CAM, Fusion 360, and related software
Interpret customer drawings and specifications to produce accurate production-ready files (DXF, STP, NC code, etc.)
Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and precision
Integrate and maintain program data within Global Shop Solutions (ERP) and utilize Zumen for document control and revision management
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to nesting, tooling, and machine compatibility
Support continuous improvement by refining programming standards and templates for efficiency and repeatability.

EDUCATION & TRAINING:Some knowledge of software-specific tools in programming and/or manufacturing technology.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:3+ years of experience in CAD/CAM programming for metal fabrication (flat and/or tube)
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Solid Works, Fusion 360, and BySoft CAM
Understanding of CNC laser cutting, press brake programming, and fabrication workflows
Knowledge of GD&T, sheet/tube metal materials (steel, aluminum, stainless), and fabrication tolerances
Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and deadlines

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS /WORK ENVIRONMENT:Work performed in a shop environment
Exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable
Requires normal vision and absence of color blindness
Physical effort equals frequent moving of up to 50lbs materials
Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach
The use of Safety Glasses is required
The use of earplugs is recommended
Ability to stand up to 10 hours a day (with a lunch in between) and up to 6 days a week
Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment.
Steel-toe boots required in Manufacturing Facility
