CNC Machinist/Operator
We are seeking skilled CNC Machinists/Operators to join our dynamic team in a large manufacturing environment specializing in pipes, valves, and flanges. You will work in a production shop with pre-loaded programs, requiring only setups and minimal edits. The role involves machining large parts, such as flanges and fittings, using carbon steel and stainless steel materials.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate CNC machines for large parts, including flanges, elbows, and fittings up to 48" to 60" in size.
- Perform setups with minimal edits using G code.
- Utilize Siemens controls, with flexibility to work with Fanuc controls as well.
- Operate Horizontal Boring Mill (HBM) machines, handling parts with up to 60" dimensions and 4-hour run times.
- Ensure precision in machining with wide open tolerances.
- Work collaboratively in a team-oriented production environment.
- 5+ years of experience in CNC machining or operating.
- Proficiency in Horizontal Boring Mill or Horizontal Milling.
- Experience with G code programming.
- Familiarity with Fanuc and Siemens controls.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Vertical Turret Lathe (VTL) and vertical milling.
- Knowledge of machining carbon steel and stainless steel materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Work EnvironmentThe work environment is a large, older manufacturing shop that has been renovated, featuring shipping, receiving, and extensive machining areas. Each station is equipped with overhead and jib cranes due to the large size of parts. The machine shop is loud, open-air, and non-climate controlled, but has large fans for air circulation. The team is diverse, with communication possible in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
The day shift includes over 40 machinists, with the night shift actively expanding. Dress code includes steel-toe boots, jeans, work shirts, and safety glasses. The 2nd shift operates Monday through Friday from 4:00 pm to 1:00 am, with occasional weekend work based on production needs.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.
