What You'll Do: At Serta Simmons Bedding, quality is how great sleep begins.

We’re looking for a Quality Technician to support our manufacturing team by maintaining product and process quality on the floor.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical quality support for multi-shift, high volume production facility. Support building a customer focused quality culture through data collection, process monitoring, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Foster a safety culture and the implementation of safety policies and training in compliance with the company safety program and OSHA regulations to eliminate work related injuries.
  • Perform audits of the quality management system; perform process and product audits
  • Lead root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
  • Maintain line quality metrics and dashboard and participate in quality reviews
  • Monitor and review CTQ / SPC / Error Proofing Controls at every level
  • Collect, analyze, and report data and participate in improvement projects
  • Assist with training the plant associates in the QMS and TQM principles
  • Review and report supplier quality issues; review/manage/escalate supplier RCA/corrective actions.
  • Participate in plant trials, write reports and generate improvement ideas
  • Support the overall continual improvement of quality effort for the site to drive increasing quality performance with the customer
  • Participate and support SSB corporate quality initiatives
What You'll Bring

Required:

  • HS diploma or GED
  • One to three years in manufacturing
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Must be at least 18 years or older

Preferred:

  • Associates degree in Manufacturing, Quality, Statistics, Engineering, Business or other
  • One year in a Quality role
  • Lean training / certification
  • Certified Six Sigma Yellow Belt
Job Factors / Work Environments

85% Walking/standing in manufacturing plant and warehouse distribution environment

15% sedentary A work pace that maintains integrity of make-to-order system is required.

Safety-focused, fast-paced manufacturing plant engaged in Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement.

Work environment includes a clean and safe work area and exposure to high noise decibels, hot raw materials, fire-retardant materials, and limited chemicals.

Personal Protective Equipment is required to be worn for any hazards and is supplied by the company.
