Quality Control Inspector - Manufacturing Environment North Houston, TX | Full-Time Direct Hire

Required Qualifications:
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents
  • Experience inspecting fabricated, machined, or assembled components
  • Proficient with inspection equipment: micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, measurement arms, shadow graph
  • Experience with coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
  • Knowledge of material standards and traceability requirements
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office and quality systems
  • Lift 50 lbs and work in active manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail
The Role:

Quality Control Inspector responsible for ensuring manufactured products meet engineering specifications, industry codes, and customer requirements. You'll manage inspection processes, equipment calibration, and quality documentation in our electrical manufacturing facility.

This is hands-on, workshop-based work where your precision directly impacts product quality and customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do:

Inspection:
Inspect components, materials, and assemblies against engineering drawings and purchase orders. Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections on manufactured parts.

Equipment Management:
Maintain calibration and certification of inspection and test equipment. Manage calibration schedules and coordinate recertification with Operations and Purchasing.

Documentation:
Maintain inspection records and material certifications. Document and track non-conformances. Provide quality reports and data to management. Support internal and external audits.

Quality Control:
Identify and document quality issues. Ensure non-conforming products are controlled and segregated. Support corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Proven experience reading engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Background in fabrication, machining, or assembly inspection
  • Proficiency with inspection tools such as CMM, calipers, micrometers, shadow graph, measurement arms, thread gauges, depth gauges, and bore gauges
  • Experience with measurement techniques including dimensional inspection, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), surface finish measurement, and comparative measurement
  • Experience with quality management systems
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Can work independently and meet deadlines
Preferred:
  • Experience calibrating own inspection tools and equipment
  • Knowledge of composite materials
  • NDT/NDE qualifications or certifications
  • Exposure to rubber materials and components
  • ISO quality standards familiarity
  • Previous electrical manufacturing experience

Working Environment:

Workshop-based position with regular exposure to manufacturing noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures. Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs required. Must wear required PPE and follow safety protocols. Occasional overtime may be required.
