Ameri-Force is seeking skilled Stick Welders to join our Houston, TX team, focusing on barge and boat repair work. This role demands strong welding skills, reliability, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in various ship repair environments. We are looking for candidates committed to quality craftsmanship and teamwork.

Perform welding and grinding tasks to repair barges, boats, internal compartments, cargo tanks, and specialised components. Achieve full penetration welds by following precise welding procedures and safety standards.

• Stick welding equipment (SMAW)
• Grinding machines and related tools
• Blowers, hoses, and air supply systems
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as helmets, gloves, and respirators
• Steel components on barges and boats
• Welding rods and filler metals
• Repair materials and welding consumables
• Quality and environmental procedure manuals

• Grind surfaces in preparation for welding repairs on barges, boats, and cargo tanks
• Perform stick welding to achieve full penetration on specified repair areas
• Operate welding and grinding equipment safely and effectively
• Pass welding qualification tests for internal skill classification
• Follow instructions from Foreman and Supervisor
• Adhere strictly to safety policies and quality procedures
• Participate in mandatory drug testing and ongoing training programs
• Arrive on time and work overtime as required

• Ability to multitask, learn quickly, and meet deadlines
• Understanding of company quality manuals and procedures
• Effective time and task management skills
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Must be eligible or possess a TWIC card
• Must pass welding test and comply with drug testing policies
• Able to work day and night shifts
• Must be physically capable of performing job duties, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to work without contact lenses

$19.00 to $20.00 per hour, based on experience

Total possible pay incentives up to $80 per week
