We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to support operations in our metal warehouse in Houston, TX. This role is responsible for safely moving, organizing, and preparing metal materials for shipping while providing excellent customer service. Thečke ideal candidate is safety‑focused, dependable, and experienced working in fast‑paced industrial environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesLoad and unload scrap metal materials, bales, bins, boxes, crates, and other cargo from trailers, truck beds, and containers
Transfer materials throughout the warehouse and assist with picking up falling materials during movement
Manually move materials, fill and dump bins as needed
Identify, sort, label, move, and organize metal materials
Pack, wrap, and prepare materials and pallets for shipment
Use hand signals to assist equipment operators moving oversized materials
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area by removing debris and hazards
Follow production plans, supervisor instructions, and safety procedures
Maintain accurate service logs and comply with maintenance requirements
Adhere to all operating, health, and safety protocols
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills & AbilitiesAbility to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand, kneel, bend, climb ladders, and work overhead for extended periods
Ability to work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain)
Strong time‑management and multitasking skills
Ability to handle stressful situations safely and effectively
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Education & ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED required
Minimum 2+ years of consecutive sit‑down forklift experience required
OSHA/Safety certification preferred, but not required
