Spooling Team Lead – Fabrication – Enerflex Ltd.

Fabrication Leads are direct production workers who provide day‑to‑day leadership to a 10‑20 person team of fitters, welders and helpers under the direction of a supervisor. The lead is accountable for ensuring the team completes work orders before the required dates, within the scheduled duration and hours, and to the highest quality and safety standards. The Fabrication Lead assigns work orders efficiently to maximize flow and throughput, prioritises tasks, monitors all work to ensure compliance with project requirements, and communicates professionally and timely with supervisors, managers and cross‑functional teams.

• Provide fitters, welders and helpers with all necessary tools and materials.
• Coordinate with the Fabrication Supervisor, Planner and QA/QC to ensure deliverables are executed per schedule and quality requirements.
• Confirm work orders timely and review scope of work; communicate fabrication planned hours to the supervisor.
• Document any rework and report it to the planner and supervisors.
• Keep the work area clean and organized; return tools, shut down welding machines and wrap hoses/cords at shift end.
• Ensure spools are free of debris and are safe before confirming operation.
• Mentor and train welders, fitters and helpers.
• Address personnel issues promptly and professionally, covering performance, attendance, attitude, bullying, productivity and work habits.
• Lead daily safety meetings with the spooling team.
• Document employee call‑ins and communicate with Kronos admin and supervisor.
• Ensure scanners in the area are online at shift end.
• Perform safety responsibilities and maintain the 6S program.

• High‑School Diploma/GED or 2‑year technical diploma or vocational certificate (desired).
• Minimum 5‑10 years of relevant industrial experience.
• Ability to lead and direct the work of others with an outstanding attendance and safety record.

Industrial environment. The role requires a large amount of standing, bending, squatting, lifting and walking on a constant basis. May be required to lift, carry and move up to 50 lbs. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity.
