Our client is a steel distributor and service center with a local presence and global reach catering to companies across the clients in the oil and gas, construction, mining, and machinery industries. Their Houston facility has been in operation for over 20 years.

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Straight Line Operator to join their team in North Houston.

Job Description

• Operate overhead cranes. 5 ton to 25 tons w/ magnets, chains with dual/single trolleys
• Stands for a long periods of time
• Able to utilize a computer or tablet for pick updating
• Operate a track torch oxy or plasma cutter
• Read drawings/blueprints
• Stamping material with stamp guns or by hand
• Set up and operate strengthening and cutting machines to process steel materials according to specifications
• Monitor the production process to ensure products meet quality standards, using measuring tools like micrometers and calipers
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Equipment:
  Straight Line;
  Machine: SLB

Skills Required

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the steel or metals manufacturing company
• Proficiency in operating track torch oxy or plasma cutter
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Familiarity with measuring equipment, including micrometers and calipers

Education/Training/Certifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience

Pay Rate/Salary

• $22.00/hr.
