Press Operator / Night Shift (Manufacturing)

At Weld Fit, the position of Press Operator / Night is responsible for the manufacture of extrusions and round‑up pressing for extrusions, maintain, maintenance and equipment for productivity and safety by performing the duties and responsibilities below.

• Safety
  • Learn all safety precautions with regards to safe oppress operation including heating extrusions and rounding up various extruded products.
  • Work and think safety at all times.
  • Responds to verbal or written instructions for safety and security calls regarding machinery.
• Records
  • Records all inspections, tests and repairs on preventive maintenance stickers.
  • Records written recommendations on improvements to reduce setup time and run time.
• Tools / Installation
  • Must have basic hand tools.
  • Be proficient in measuring devices tape, level, and gauges.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts and equipment.
• Inspects
  • Inspects damage parts, determines nature of repair and uses repair tools to rework or refurbish worn or damaged parts.
  • Inspects, tests, and adjusts all systems, machinery and equipment on a regular basis.
  • Performs checks and balances on machines to assure the proper functioning.
• Constructing
  • Reassembles equipment and tests performance as needed.
  • Basic understanding of hydraulics and hydraulic systems.
• Miscellaneous
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends with minimum notice.
  • Daily operation and maintenance of presses.

• Over a year, up to about 3 years of general experience / equivalent competence level on various machine operations.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend and climb.
• Capability of lifting up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• High Level of manual dexterity.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in similar job.

• English Reading, Writing, and Verbal Skills.
• Time Management Skills.
• Basic Layout Skills.
• Blueprint Reading Skills.
• Mathematic Aptitude.
