Description
Essential Functions
- Must have experience with castings and fittings and know how to grind the castings
- Must have heavy grinding experience on casting and fittings
- Must have experience with hand tools/grinding tools and pneumatic air equipment
- Should be able to perform any other activity assigned from time to time...
- Pulls product and packages material for shipment to meet customer requirements using the forklift and other equipment.
- Maintains production/warehouse and yard environments to provide the cleanest and safest environment possible.
- Supervision of employees
- Safely operates forklifts; follows proper procedures to take care of forklifts and other equipment.
- Collects product from bins following the radio frequency (RF) system.
- Has the product inspected for accuracy and quality.
- Packages product in accordance with Star Pipe Products' standards.
- Collects and disposes of trash from warehouse, manufacturing, and yard.
- Inspects bins, equipment, and manufacturing for safety; takes appropriate safety precautions and wears appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Accurately pulls orders and stocks inventory items in the correct bins.
- Communicates issues such as equipment damage, incidents, safety concerns, etc. to management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
Required:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- 1-3 years of experience completing manufacturing tasks in a supervisory role
- Experience in a manufacturing and warehousing center specializing in the Waterworks Industry or related fields
- Experience with inventory tracking and radio frequency systems
- Experience Lean Manufacturing and 6s
Required:
- Able to operate a forklift
- Excellent situational awareness
- Clear, concise, and accurate communication skills
- Ability to prioritize effectively
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Basic computer experience
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Able to lift, move up, and carry materials up to 75 pounds
- Will be required to reach, stand, walk, or crouch during a 10-hour shift
- Must be able to be on feet continuously during a 10-hour shift
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs frequently during a 10-hour shift
- Must be able to climb 4 feet onto and off of a fork truck repetitively during a 10-hour shift
- Must be able to kneel and bend at the knees frequently during a 10-hour shift
- Must be able to push and pull 300 lbs with a pallet jack / fed-ex and ups shipping carts frequently during a 10-hour shift
- Must be able to use wrist and hands frequently during a 10-hour shift
- Able to work in various climate conditions
- Overtime and weekend work may occasionally be required
