Machinist Horizontal Lathe; 2nd Shift

Overview

Position: Machinist Horizontal Lathe (2nd Shift) at Valv Technologies

Schedule: 2nd shift

Air-conditioned Modern Shop located in Northwest Houston; room for advancement for the right individual

• Set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and numeric control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts
• Experience on CNC lathe or mill
• Install chuck jaws and/or fixtures on machine
• Set up CNC Machines using edge finder or probe to locate program zero
• Read in and adjust program speeds, feeds, depth of cuts as required
• Machine parts to drawings
• Measure parts, complete inspection reports, and adjust offsets
• May perform other work-related functions as deemed necessary by immediate supervisor

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 3 years experience on CNC Machines or Manual Machines
• Must be able to read and understand G-Codes and M-Codes using Fanuc controls
• Able to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodations
• Experience machining valve components a plus
• Able to perform these duties with or without reasonable accommodations

• Must be able to machine exotic materials such as Titanium and Inconel
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications and produce precision work
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that is fast paced and demanding
• Self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skills
• Exhibits a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy
• Works well meeting multiple deadlines with the ability to deliver on time
• Training program for manual machinist to learn CNC Machines
