Job Overview
Apply for the HT5000 - Forklift Operator 2 role at Wismettac Asian Foods, Inc.. This position supports efficient warehouse operations, performing stocking, inventory management, and shipping tasks using forklifts and other equipment. The role requires skillful handling of loads, accuracy in inventory checks, and adherence to safety protocols.
Essential Job Functions- Package finished product for shipping (Shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling).
- Check purchase orders/work orders to ensure that products are correctly assembled and ready for delivery.
- Check items to ensure that the correct number of products is being assembled.
- Assist in inventory level maintenance and inventory counts.
- Load the finished product onto the truck.
- Unload products from trucks and containers, and store them in the designated area.
- Responsible for quality control. Ensure that no damaged products are sent out or stored.
- Operate within standard operating procedures.
- Operate with the forklift and/or palette jacks.
- Perform preventive maintenance on forklifts and/or palette jacks.
- Handle inventory movement into and out of controlled locations.
- Secure loads to the machine before transportation.
- Prepare customers’ orders for delivery.
- Picking and wrapping orders for shipment.
- Provide fill-in support for other departments in the warehouse.
- Optimize loads to ensure operational efficiency.
- Adhere to safety management standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 3 to 6 years of forklift experience.
- High School or GED.
- Forklift Certification.
- Ability to use forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Must be able to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under various time constraints.
- Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of the warehouse environment.
- Follow written and/or oral instructions.
- Correctly follow set rules and procedures.
- Ability to lift heavy objects over 50 pounds.
- Read, speak, and write in English.
- Physically strong, agile, and able to work in adverse climatic conditions.
- Positive work history and ability to maintain solid attendance.
- Available to work extended hours.
Some forklift operators will spend time in the warehouse’s refrigerated (Coolers and Freezers) section. Machinery operation requires wearing safety equipment, including steel‑toed boots. The typical workweek is Monday through Friday (40 hours). Evening, night shift, overtime, and weekend hours are common.
