Summary:
The Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and non‑metallic components in accordance with engineering specifications.
- Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
- Calculate and set machine controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, and angle of cut; or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control programs.
- Start and observe machine operations to detect malfunctions or out‑of‑tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls or control media as required.
- Verify conformance of finished work pieces to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Set up and operate machines on trial runs to verify the accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
- Install and replace machine parts as needed.
- Confer with engineers and production personnel to resolve machining or assembly issues.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
- $22.46 to $25.47 depending on experience

- Proven CNC machining experience and/or certification, or current enrollment in a CNC certification program.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Preference for a minimum of two (2) years of machine operation experience and/or completion of an apprenticeship program.

- Ability to stand for an 8+ hour shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50+ pounds.
- Must be able to push, pull, bend, and twist upper and lower body.
- Extensive use of hands to grasp, handle, and adjust machinery.
