Overview

Supervisor - Electrical Assembly s role is responsible for managing the workflow of the electrical assembly team, assigning tasks, supporting staff, monitoring results, and reporting to the Production Manager. The role contributes to department efficiency by reviewing and improving processes and setting targets for the team. Provides Team Leads with information, materials, and training to produce the highest quality product possible, and monitors records for attendance, payroll, production, safety, and ISO (quality).

Encourages development of ideas from other supervisors, team leads, and employees.

Reports to:

Production Manager. The compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and a target sales performance incentive, with a target total compensation range of $77,700 - $124,400. Base salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Responsibilities

  • Devise work schedules and implement deadlines.
  • Plan workloads, work orders, allocate tasks, and monitor progress against targets.
  • Ensure timeliness, safety, and quality of material movement.
  • Maintain safe work practices, a safe work environment, and ensure work crews follow safe practices and HSE programs, including Lock-out Tag-out.
  • In conjunction with the EHS Manager, train employees on changes in safety regulations, work policies, and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and address production quality issues to uphold quality standards.
  • Ensure employee labor hours are recorded to the proper projects and ensure necessary coverage to complete work on time.
  • Address employee performance issues in a timely manner in accordance with company policies, consulting with Human Resources as appropriate.
  • Provide input on performance reviews and offer suggestions for improvement.
  • Facilitate the training and onboarding of new employees.
  • Monitor/approve timecards for all members of the team.
  • Develop skills and abilities of team members.
  • Act with integrity, support for the company and its core values, while maintaining focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
  • Build positive rapport with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Complete tasks as directed by the Production Manager with minimal supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Previous leadership experience is required.
  • Lead by example with strong work ethic, interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, good attendance, and strong safety awareness.
  • Ability to create and understand reports to inform production decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Creative thinker with proven problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and oversee multiple teams.
  • Commitment to continual improvement, effective quality management systems, and safe work practices.
  • Ability to read one-line and three-line drawings (MV, LV, and control) which may require use of 3D models.
  • Ability to establish effective methods and procedures for installation of electrical equipment, components, and instruments.
  • Familiarity with NEC code (IEC or other standards is a plus).
  • Understanding of the production and work order process.
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  • Physical fitness to lift 30-50 lbs regularly; ability to stand, bend, crouch and reach; travel up to 20% as needed.
