The Position

Grid United has numerous large scale transmission projects underway and is currently identifying and studying additional prospective projects across North America. With patient capital backing and led by experienced energy veterans, Grid United is in a fast-growth stage, boasting a purpose-built team of motivated and entrepreneurial talent. We are particularly focused on effective stakeholder engagement and positive involvement with the communities in the areas where we are working.

Grid United is seeking a Senior Director of Commercial Analytics to lead the development and execution of analytical strategies that demonstrate the value of our transmission projects across their lifecycle—from prospecting to commercialization. The Senior Director of Commercial Analytics will manage a team of 4 to 6 managers and associates. He/she will work cross-functionally with commercial, development, regulatory, engineering, legal, and financial teams.

The Senior Director of Commercial Analytics will be a thought partner and close collaborator with the Commercial team, and will report to the Chief Commercial Officer, Jack Farley. The position is located in Houston, Texas.

Key Responsibilities & Outcomes

Strategic leadership & vision

• Develop and lead the commercial analytics team to execute a strategy that aligns with the company's business goals and long-term vision.
• Advance our analytical methodologies and tools to deliver convincing insights to customers and other stakeholders and to assist in identifying new development opportunities that are aligned with Grid United's commercial thesis.
• Represent Grid United in external forums, including customer engagements, regulatory proceedings, industry working groups, and ISO/RTO forums.

Value proposition development

• Prepare presentations that communicate complex concepts effectively to audiences ranging from mid-level staff to C-suite.
• Oversee internal and consultant-led analyses to quantify the economic, reliability, resiliency, and environmental benefits of Grid United's projects.
• Guide the development of forward-looking production cost modeling, loss of load expectation studies, and other advanced analytics to support project justification.

Market design & policy influence

• Support efforts to shape market design and regulatory frameworks that recognize and reward the value of inter-regional transmission.
• Collaborate with transmission strategy, regulatory affairs, commercial, and external partners to advocate for policy changes that enable project success.

Team development & capability building

• Build and mentor a high-performing analytics team, fostering deep expertise in relevant electricity markets, state regulatory environments/frameworks, and project-specific customer value drivers.
• Work cohesively and productively across project teams.
• Drive innovation in analytical approaches, tools, methodologies, and data integration.
