Director of Accounting | Houston, TX (Hybrid)

We’re seeking a Director of Accounting to join a collaborative leadership team and drive financial excellence, process modernization, and team development for a nationally recognized firm.
Primary responsibilities include:- Oversee all accounting operations, including financial reporting, planning, and analysis.
- Lead the month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage complex billing arrangements and partner compensation processes.
- Drive process improvements and technology adoption to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives.
- Mentor and develop a high‑performing accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and ethical practice.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and other key partners.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive accounting or financial management experience, including public accounting background.
- Strong background in financial strategy, process optimization, and technology adoption.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial management systems, a plus.
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative, and high‑performance environment.
