Overview
Do you have strong experience in dog welfare and enjoy supporting others to deliver high standards every day? At Dogs Trust, we’re looking for a confident and welfare-focused Dog Welfare Supervisor to support daily kennel operations and help maintain consistent, high-quality care across our Rehoming Centre. This role is hands-on and people-facing, providing day-to-day guidance to Dog Welfare Assistants and supporting smooth, welfare-led dog care.
WhatYou’ll Be Doing
- Coordinate daily kennel routines, including cleaning, feeding, enrichment and welfare checks.
- Support Dog Welfare Assistants through guidance, coaching and problem-solving.
- Take responsibility for the Development Block as a flagship example of best practice.
- Support induction and first shifts for new starters and volunteers.
- Monitor welfare standards and escalate concerns where needed.
- Work closely with Behaviour, Veterinary and Rehoming teams to support dog progression.
- Ensure accurate records and clear handovers across shift.
- Strong experience in dog welfare and kennel operations.
- Confidence supporting and guiding others in a busy environment.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Calm, welfare-led decision-making.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Full, clean driving licence.
- Commitment to Dogs Trust’s mission and values.
- Experience supporting staff or volunteer induction.
- Understanding of dog behaviour and low-stress handling principles.
- Experience working in a rehoming or rescue environment.
- A hands-on role where you make a real difference in the lives of dogs every day.
