The RPLS Project Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing survey projects while managing both office and field staff. Key responsibilities include overseeing project surveying services, mentoring and motivating teams, and maintaining strong client and internal relationships. The RPLS Project Manager also handles proposal preparation, external client communication, and coordinating staffing needs for projects of various scales. This role supervises boundary analysis, directs field operations, ensures quality control of project deliverables, and tracks project budgets, labor, and resources.
The RPLS Project Manager coordinates with the Accounting Department to monitor project financial performance, manage budgets, review labor and expenses, and support accurate and timely project billing in accordance with contractual requirements. This position serves as the primary liaison between team members, performance metrics, accounting, and clients, ensuring successful project execution, financial accountability, and staff development.
- Develop & Manage Proposals & Bids, Budgets, Schedules, Billings & Contracts
- Project Management from Proposal to Project Submittal Phase
- Plan & Implement Processes & Procedures to Maximize Operating Efficiency
- Prepare Plats, Field Notes & Control Drawings, If Necessary
- Establish Work Plans & Staffing Requirements for Multiple Projects
- Participate in Business Development Opportunities & Maintain Client Relationships
- Effectively Manage Sub-Consultants & Other Project Relationships
- Provide Support to Other Operational Units, As Needed
- Manage & Report Financial Status for Projects
- Represent Company Interests While in Meetings and at External Industry Events
- Perform All Tasks Assigned to Accomplish Company’s Strategic Goals
- Ensure Services Meet Company Quality Standards & Client Specifications
- Registered Professional Land Surveying (RPLS) license from Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors (TBPELS)
- 3–5+ years of industry-related work experience in a professional or management capacity
- Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience
- Strong proficiency with software such as AutoCAD, Carlson C&G, Trimble Business Center, Microsoft Office Suite;
Micro Station & ORD knowledge is a bonus - Professional written & verbal communication skills, both externally and internally
- Ability to oversee, mentor & motivate project teams
- Ability to identify & troubleshoot issues and problem solve accordingly
- Drive to meet or exceed aggressive deadlines while maintaining teamwork & collaboration with clients, team members & sub-consultants
