Operations Manager
Cosmo Intelligent Medical Devices, a leader in AI-driven medical devices, is seeking an accomplished Associate Director of Operations to support the VP of Operations in managing internal and outsourced activities across R&D, New Product Introduction (NPI), Manufacturing, Maintenance, Service, and global supply operations.
This role acts as a strategic and operational partner to the VP of Operations, taking responsibility for day-to-day coordination, execution, and delegated oversight of cross-functional operational activities. The Associate Director ensures processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with company objectives while driving continuous improvement across the operational ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities1. Operational Leadership & Support
- Support the VP of Operations in overseeing all internal and outsourced operational activities across R&D, NPI, Manufacturing, and Service.
- Act as a delegated authority on operational issues when assigned, ensuring continuity and stability across the operational domain.
- Coordinate day-to-day execution of operational workflows, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory expectations.
- Assist in managing the contract and operational performance of outsourced R&D and NPI partners.
- Monitor development timelines, deliverables, and integration activities, ensuring smooth transition from development into manufacturing.
- Support continuous improvement of NPI processes and documentation.
- Support the oversight of outsourced manufacturing and service operations to ensure product quality, compliance, and timely production.
- Coordinate with the manufacturing site on batch release requirements, documentation readiness, and quality standards.
- Track manufacturing KPIs, service levels, and operational performance metrics.
- Assist in managing the day-to-day sales supply process to the exclusive distributor.
- Ensure timely preparation, documentation, and release of shipments, working across supply chain and quality teams.
- Support demand forecasting and supply planning activities.
- Support logistics and compliance processes for international product distribution.
- Ensure all documentation, export rules, and regulatory requirements are fulfilled.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics providers to maintain global compliance readiness.
- Work closely with Quality, Regulatory, Commercial, Technical, and vendor partners to ensure operational alignment.
- Track KPIs and operational health metrics, generating data-driven insights for the VP.
- Participate in lifecycle management activities by gathering performance data and supporting improvement initiatives.
- Support identification, assessment, and documentation of operational risks.
- Assist in monitoring vendor contract execution, ensuring adherence to SLAs, quality expectations, and obligations.
- Prepare risk reports, vendor reviews, and escalation summaries for the VP.
- Assist the VP in managing operational budgets and tracking spending.
- Identify efficiency opportunities across processes, vendors, and systems.
- Support development and rollout of operational excellence initiatives.
- Support the development and mentoring of the operations team, fostering high standards and cross-functional cohesion.
- Provide guidance, structure, and operational clarity to junior team members.
- Act as a cultural ambassador for teamwork, continuous improvement, and innovation.
- 7+ years in operations management within the medical device, pharma, or other regulated industry.
- Demonstrated experience working with outsourced manufacturing, R&D, or service partners.
- Strong understanding of batch release processes, global supply requirements, and regulated operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Life Sciences, or related field.
- Advanced degree or relevant certification (MBA, PMP, Lean Six Sigma) is an advantage.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional operations and support senior leadership.
- Experience with regulated manufacturing environments and quality system processes.
