Responsibilities- Work alongside the Executive Director on key donor relationships, stewarding them and strategizing how to deepen impact in time, talent, and treasure.
- Collaborate on mid-to-large corporate prospecting, sales process, and onboarding, including managing the Top 25 Prospect List and providing first‑class service for new companies in the Greater Houston Division.
- Secure aggressive, sustainable growth in unrestricted revenue by building a dynamic development staff and volunteer leadership talent.
- Lead with a “Drive for Results” mentality that motivates both self and others.
- Manage four direct reports (AVP for Heart Walk, Go Red For Women, Heart Ball, and Development Director for Impact Campaigns) who oversee approximately nine development and support staff.
- Rapidly learn existing donor relationships and partner with staff to deepen financial and volunteer impact.
- Collaborate across campaigns, prioritizing donor interest and maintaining a unified voice.
- Drive new company growth and leadership engagement through direct reports and development staff.
- Build a network of meaningful volunteer partnerships to advance the Association’s mission and provide direction, framework, and resources for volunteers.
- Set visionary goals and hold campaign teams accountable for achieving them.
- Foster a professional work environment characterized by collaboration, trust, teamwork, empowerment, and professionalism.
- Maintain a minimum of three years of “transformational” Chairs for each campaign and its events, increasing revenue and volunteer engagement.
- Partner with Southwest Region and National Center resources to coach and monitor fundraising events, ensuring aggressive growth and year‑round focus.
- Work with Marketing/Communications event staff to keep campaign expenses within the approved budget.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a comparable non‑profit or sales organization.
- Minimum of 6 years supervising a sales or fundraising team.
- Track record of setting, achieving, and exceeding aggressive goals on a sustainable basis.
- Track record of influencing others to action through communicating a shared vision.
- Ability to execute strategic plans in a highly dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
- Local travel approximately 75% of the time; reliable transportation required.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.
