Director, Public Relations & Thought Leadership
Reporting to the VP, Demand Generation, the Director, Public Relations & Thought Leadership owns the external narrative, executive communications (or executive visibility), and market credibility of the PROS Travel business. This role defines how PROS is perceived by airline executives, industry influencers, partners, and media as a trusted partner for airline commercial modernization and retail transformation.
This is a strategic communications role, responsible for building a cohesive and clear external brand narrative and messaging, executive positioning, and sustained thought leadership that supports expansion-led growth within the PROS global airline customer base. The Director partners closely with executive leadership, Marketing, Commercial, Product, Sales, and Customer teams to ensure PROS Travel’s perspective is consistent, credible, and differentiated.

A Day in the Life of the Director, Public Relations & Thought Leadership
Public Relations & External Narrative- Own the external narrative and brand positioning for PROS Travel across earned, owned, and shared channels.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, shaping messaging for the senior leaders across media, speaking, and industry engagements.
- Lead global media relations, prioritizing relevance, credibility, and long-term influence over volume.
- Develop proactive storylines that elevate PROS Travel’s perspective in airline, travel, and business media.
- Activate customer voices as peer validation through media, speaking opportunities, and industry recognition.
- Collaborate closely across Marketing teams to further amplify key messages, leverage content, and ensure alignment to maximize impact and reach.
- Lead crisis communications efforts, ensuring immediate and effective messaging that addresses the situation, alleviates concerns, and maintains trust among all stakeholders.
- Oversee external PR agencies and partners, ensuring message discipline, strategic alignment, and measurable impact.
- Define and execute a global thought leadership strategy focused on airline executives and commercial leaders.
- Translate complex airline capabilities and customer outcomes into clear, executive-level points of view.
- Identify priority themes, forums, and moments where PROS Travel should lead the industry conversation.
- Drive brand marketing and publishing strategy that best defines PROS unique identity, values, and perceptions that differentiate the brand from competitors, and supports overall brand storytelling to build brand equity and value.
- Own the PROS speakers’ bureau and executive speaker strategy, including keynotes, panels, and high-impact industry forums.
- Establish success metrics that reflect influence and leadership, and report clearly on narrative traction and impact.
- Operates as a leader within the Travel marketing organization.
- Partners closely with executive leadership, Marketing, Commercial and Revenue teams, Product and Solution Marketing, and Customer Success and Sales.
- Brings a global mindset, balancing centralized narrative control with regional nuance across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC.
- 12+ years of experience in communications, PR, or thought leadership roles, ideally within airline, travel, or adjacent commercial technology domains.
- Proven experience shaping executive-level narratives and advising senior leaders.
- Demonstrated success building credible thought leadership, not just press coverage.
- Experience managing global PR agencies and complex stakeholder environments.
- Exceptional writing and editorial judgment.
- Strong strategic instincts and executive presence.
