THE ROLEThe Project Manager II is a senior level position responsible for leading complex project management projects and initiatives. This role involves conducting advanced analyses of project performance, performing in-depth risk assessments, and developing strategies to improve project outcomes. The Project Manager works closely with cross functional teams to identify and resolve project issues, implement corrective and preventive actions, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
The project manager role oversees installation and construction projects for water treatment assets from project kickoff through commissioning/startup.
Project Planning and Strategy
- Develop detailed project plans and timelines
- Identify project goals and objectives
- Create project budget and track expenses
- Communicate project status updates to stakeholders
- Lead project team meetings and ensure tasks are completed on time
- Identify and resolve any project issues or roadblocks
Stakeholder Management
- Establish and maintain relationships with project stakeholders
- Communicate project goals and progress to stakeholders
- Manage stakeholder expectations and address any concerns
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify project requirements
- Ensure stakeholder feedback is incorporated into project plans
Resource Allocation
- Identify project resource needs and allocate resources accordingly
- Manage contracts, bids, and installation resources
- Manage internal and external resources simultaneously, allocating resources as needed
- Identify and resolve any resource conflicts
Reporting and Documentation
- Create project reports for stakeholders
- Document project progress and updates
- Maintain project documentation and ensure it is readily accessible to stakeholders
- Ensure project documentation is accurate and up-to-date
- Conduct project evaluations and produce final project reports

- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field and at least 4 years experience or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
- Previous project management experience in a construction related field is a preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, safety standards, and regulations. Understanding of water treatment processes, piping systems, and equipment installation is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and technical documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment.
- Experience in developing and implementing project management strategies and plans.
- Knowledge of risk management and project scheduling techniques.
The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range. At Xylem, we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit…
