Director of Sales and Marketing – Hilton Houston Post Oak by the Galleria

With over 400 guestrooms and more than 40,000 square feet of meeting and event space, the Hilton Houston Post Oak by the Galleria seeks a Director of Sales & Marketing who is both a strategic revenue leader and a culture-builder—someone who inspires teams, elevates performance, and creates a results‑driven sales environment.

As the Director of Sales & Marketing, you will oversee commercial strategies for the hotel, improving performance by connecting strategy and business processes. The role is part of Hilton’s Commercial Services organization, which drives sales, revenue, marketing, catering, events, call centers, and analytics—core to driving profitable growth.

What will I be doing?
  • Design, develop, and deploy business strategies that are creative, dynamic, and impactful for the Americas and lead the Hotel Sales and Marketing process.
  • Move the business analytics, processes, including cadence of activities to a "predictive and prescriptive" approach to drive performance.
  • Develop and communicate commercial strategies and standards through a structured cadence and analyze company revenue performance against established goals.
  • Facilitate the delivery of the Americas Commercial Operating Model and possess strong leadership, communication, and networking skills.
Strategy
  • Produce the hotel’s Annual Multi‑Year Commercial Strategy Plan with on‑property leaders and regional support.
  • Align performance needs with Hilton enterprise solutions in key segments served by the hotel.
  • Own accountability for setting strategy and delivering hotel revenues (group rooms, banquets, catering, business & leisure transients).
  • Ensure Business Review Guidelines and Group Pricing & Rate Quotation Strategies maximize pricing components and achieve positive group market share.
  • Support B2B marketing, digital marketing, social media, public relations, and communications; guide e‑Commerce teams for accurate online content.
  • Establish optimal business mix, review and validate revenue forecasts, and develop demand‑period strategies.
  • Work with Executive Committee to maximize profits in line with GOP and EBITDA targets.
  • Develop and execute departmental expense budget and forecasts.
  • Maintain real‑time knowledge of competitor and market activity.
  • Execute the Sales and Catering Sales annual Incentive Program.
Leadership
  • Lead weekly, monthly, and quarterly Sales & Marketing Optimization Process, converting outcomes into actionable strategies.
  • Contribute to annual Commercial Cadence communications on performance and drivers.
  • Consistently conform to Hilton brand standards, corporate identity, and communication tools.
  • Recruit and retain all sales and marketing roles.
  • Lead, engage, and develop team members, including performance development and career plans.
  • Conduct performance reviews for all direct and dotted‑line reports, including Group Sales, Business Transient Sales, Leisure Sales, Catering Sales, and Marketing.
  • Foster a culture aligned with Hilton’s DEI and ESG goals.
Ownership, Customer, and Stakeholder Relations
  • Own performance and commercial activity reporting for each hotel.
  • Collaborate with AVPs, Regional Commercial Directors, and General Managers to present strategies to business partners and ownership groups.
  • Liaise with Hilton Worldwide Sales, regional support, and brand teams.
  • Build relationships with CVB, community influencers, and third‑party travel partners.
  • Engage high‑level customers across all segments.
  • Support site visits and pre‑convention meetings.
  • Support sales managers’ travel into feeder markets.
What are we looking for?

Minimum qualifications:

  • Hotel Sales, Catering or Marketing experience.
  • Leadership management experience.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Experience in hotel management or related industry.
  • Highly professional oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office.
  • Critical analysis capabilities.

Additional desirable capabilities:

  • Four‑year college degree preferred.
  • Experience with business strategy, planning, and development.
  • Multi‑language proficiency.
  • Multiple brand experience.
