Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and controls.
  • Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure reliability and longevity of building assets.
  • Lead, supervise, and develop a facilities team, including technicians, custodians, and external contractors.
  • Manage capital improvement and renovation projects — planning, budgeting, and overseeing execution.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and building codes, as well as company policies.
  • Partner with internal departments and external vendors to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimize disruption to business operations.
  • Develop and track the annual facilities operating budget and capital expenditures; identify cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, inspections, and equipment inventories.
  • Implement sustainability and energy‑management initiatives to reduce facility costs and environmental impact.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for emergency response and business continuity planning related to facility operations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in facilities management, including large commercial, industrial, or institutional facilities (700,000+ sq. ft.).
  • 3-5 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing) and maintenance best practices.
  • Experience managing complex vendor contracts and service agreements.
  • Proficient in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, capital projects, and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Professional certification preferred: CFM, FMP, PMP, or equivalent.
