PRIMARY PURPOSEAssists with all aspects of I&E on an offshore production platform. Executes day to day I&E activities according to safety standards. Coordinates and completes documentation and activities necessary. Ensures production equipment is maintained according to company standards. Assists teams with developing solutions to rectify issues that may hinder production activities. Works with interdisciplinary offshore teams to develop solutions to mitigate production stoppages due to repair/ maintenance activities on production platforms.
ROLESAND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the stability of the production platform is maintained at all times. This includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following major jobs / duties:
Continually monitoring the deck loads and the loading and unloading of the appropriate ballast tanks to maintain the desired list / trim of the platform
Monitoring ballast, list & trim alarms and responding in a trained manner according to SOP including notifying Barge Supervisor and OIM
Ensure all ballast control pumps, tanks and valves are properly maintained and fully functional at all times
Monitor / log weather and plan for future weather events so as to ensure stability of the platform
Maintain radar and general navigational watch
Ensure that all fire fighting equipment, life boats, fast rescue boats, rafts and associated equipment are regularly inspected and fully operational and available for immediate use at all times.
Monitor the emergency fire safety systems and alarms throughout the production platform and notifying the appropriate parties of potential problems.
Inspect the eye wash and shower emergency stations and emergency lighting and notify maintenance by writing up a work order on issues that need repairs
Contact the USCG and area platforms in instances of fire / explosion / spill emergency situations,
Conduct weekly fire drills, replace used / expired fire extinguishers as appropriate often serve as the coxswain on the fast rescue boat and life boats
Inspect the life boats including quarterly launching and recovering the life boats
Issue, monitor, maintain ongoing log and store work permits related to the Marine aspect of the platform
Coordinate logistics manifests for equipment / storage containers, etc leaving the platform
Liaison between the Company and outside vendors in regards to fire and life saving equipment
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Professional / Technical Qualifications/Licences/
Certifications:
Minimum: THUET, T-2 Certificate
Additional:
Advanced Fire Fighting, Lifeboatman, Fast Rescue Craft, First Aid / CPR, Helicopter Landing Officer
Experience: at least one year experience on GOM Oxy Platform

Competencies:
Familiar with the needs and requirements of Permit To Work (PTW) systems
