Job Description Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Operations for the Memorial Hermann Consolidated Service Center (CSC), the Maintenance Lead will be responsible for various maintenance, installation and repair functions on facility and operations equipment, especially those requiring trade skills, mechanical, and electrical, and in a supporting role for other facility maintenance activities.

Education:
High school diploma, GED, or vocational work preferred.

Experience/Knowledge/Skills:
- Five (5) years of experience in general building maintenance functions required. Experience in automated distribution warehousing environment preferred.
- Must have knowledge of current trade-related regulations and practices.
- Must be able to operate and maintain material handling equipment.
- Hands-on trade experience, welding, PLC, electrical wiring and demonstrated machine shop proficiency required.
- Must have basic knowledge of electrical controls and use of electrical measuring devices.
- Must have computer skills necessary for management of preventative maintenance tracking and reporting systems.

- Builds, maintains, and communicates Preventive Maintenance (PM) requirements and completed PMs.
- Responsible for facilities and operational equipment maintenance to include conveyors, plumbing, forklifts, compressor, stretch wrap machines, dock doors, and other equipment in the Consolidated Service Center.
- Provides day-to-day work assignments to Facilities Techs.
- Must be able to routinely lift up to 30lbs.
- Detects defective materials or questionable conditions and makes corrective recommendations to the department supervisor.
- Safety Committee duties to include attendance to monthly meetings and responsible for safety-related action items.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Responsible for facility lighting both preventative and day-to-day.
- Conducts weekly and monthly inspections to remain in compliance with Environmental Health and Safety standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Responsible for facility-related special projects as assigned by the Operations Director.
- Ensures Safety is the top priority within the CSC and continually works to minimize Facilities Technician downtime.
- Responsible for following Good Documentation Practices (GDP) as outlined in SOPs.
- Participates in developing and maintaining departmental procedures, SOPs and work instructions as well as actively being involved with training other employees as required.
- Must be willing to work on-call as needed.
- May be required to work off shifts and/or weekends.
- Other duties and responsibilities that may be directed by management depending on work priorities.
- The position will almost always have exposure to work near moving mechanical equipment, exposure to precarious situations and potential temperature deviations.
- Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
- Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
