HVAC Tech / Heating Engineer, Building Maintenance
Trans Core (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time Facilities Technician to join our team in Houston, Texas.
SummaryThe Facilities Technician performs maintenance on support systems in the building. This includes fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, HVAC operation, lighting, plumbing, recycling and project support.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Checks building systems to determine functionality by checking switches and lights, water in the kitchen and bathrooms, and HVAC output.
- Inspects fire extinguishers and smoke alarms on a monthly basis.
- Recycles materials and contacts vendors for disposition.
- Inspects walls for paint, scratches or holes that need repair.
- Assists with office moves and set ups.
- Contacts vendors for building/equipment repairs carpets as necessary.
- Documents chemicals and verifies MSDS.
- Assists with office supply restocking and organization.
- Assists with office furniture maintenance.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) strongly preferred.
- Typically requires a minimum of 1-2 years of related experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions and moving traffic.
