Position: Facilities Maintenance Sr. (Facility)

Premier Medical Resources is looking for a Sr. Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team for our West Location! This position includes a $5,000 sign‑on bonus.

SUMMARY

The Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for planning, organizing and directing facilities maintenance operations, including scheduling, inspecting, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and applicable codes. Performing safety and preventative maintenance, installing and repairing systems and devices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Lead maintenance staff, oversee tasks, address questions, review work orders, ensure compliance, develop and execute action plans
  • Use peer‑to‑peer accountability towards department goals for retention and employee engagement
  • Serve as a resource, training and mentoring staff on appropriate and effective use and maintenance of tools
  • Guide and mentors Facilities Maintenance Technicians to build confidence in their skills, knowledge and abilities
  • Manage state surveys, being on‑site during inspections, and assist surveyors as needed
  • Review daily logs, ensure technicians maintain the proper operation and daily operations of the facility including minor and complex facility needs
  • Perform analysis, troubleshooting and complex maintenance repair, escalated to Lead Technician/Supervisor, if necessary, to gain clarification to make effective repairs
  • Verify accurate installation of systems and devices, in compliance with codes, ordinances and statutes
  • Ensure accidents and safety hazards are reported promptly and correctly and that all assistants/technicians follow department safety standards and protocols
  • Maintain inventory of hospital owned medical equipment
  • Execute periodic safety walks throughout the facility to ensure facility is well maintained and free of safety hazards
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections to include HVAC, electrical and plumbing, as appropriate, maintain and tests department emergency systems
  • Work pro‑actively to perform routine maintenance and repairs on plumbing, electrical, mechanical, equipment, etc. as directed and in accordance with established procedures
  • Document findings from inspections on maintenance log cards
  • Report all unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc. to management immediately
  • Perform or coordinate unscheduled maintenance tasks when deemed necessary according to regulations
  • Schedule and coordinate the repair or replacement of equipment, building, grounds or utility systems
  • Ensure that contractor bids and/or quotes are completed and received in a timely manner, as needed
  • Develop and provide training to hospital staff regarding its safety program
  • Suggest revision of systems and routines for improved operations of the department
  • Assist management to create a financially responsible departmental budget
  • Provide input into the development and implementation of maintenance related hospital projects
  • Utilize knowledge of fiscal management when making daily operational decisions
  • Maintain and protect confidentiality regarding all aspects of patient care, personnel and strategic issues
  • Adhere to confidentiality policy, hospital’s policies and procedures in the Employee Handbook
  • Report problems that may compromise effective job performance by using appropriate chain of command
  • Follow safety standards, policies and procedures established for the department and hospital and conduct all procedures accordingly
  • Maintain awareness of environment and uses great caution while navigating various work areas
  • Accessible 24/7 to hospital administrators unless other arrangements have been made and communicated to the appropriate staff and management
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of building codes, CMS, JCAHO and Life Safety Code
  • Demonstrate problem‑solving and problem prevention skills in the areas of maintenance and safety
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships and fosters cooperative work environment when communicating with individuals
  • Ability to complete work within designated time frames
