We are partnering with a premier Houston-based, full-service commercial real estate firm to recruit an experienced Counsel with a strong background in real estate development, finance, and general corporate matters. This in-house role will support sophisticated, high-profile projects for a dynamic and growing organization.

The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted legal advisor to the business, working closely with senior leadership and internal stakeholders. This position offers meaningful responsibility, long-term growth potential, a flexible hybrid work environment (after an initial onboarding period), and a competitive compensation package.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support across commercial real estate development, finance, and corporate matters
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements, including loan documents, joint venture and partnership agreements
  • Advise on site development issues, including master associations, deed restrictions, easements, and entitlements
  • Negotiate and structure purchase and sale agreements, construction contracts, and public/private development agreements
  • Support property-level financing and ancillary income arrangements
  • Conduct legal research and provide practical, business-oriented guidance to internal teams
  • Manage multiple matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of legal experience in real estate, finance, and general corporate law
  • Demonstrated experience handling complex commercial real estate transactions
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
