Legal Secretary

We’re hiring a Paralegal to assist our legal team with drafting, answering, reviewing, and compelling written discovery. Additionally, this role involves calculating child support, creating an inventory of marital assets and liabilities, and other related tasks.
The ideal applicant should be experienced in drafting and responding to discovery, proficient in math and Excel spreadsheets, and highly organized with great attention to detail. Knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, particularly regarding discovery, and familiarity with the Texas family law system are essential. If this sounds like a job you’ll love, apply below.

Responsibilities include:
- Drafting requests and responses to interrogatories, disclosures, and production requests under the guidance of a lawyer
- Drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers
- Meeting with clients to gather information about their legal documents
- Creating a Marital Inventory of Assets and Liabilities
- Calculating child support, equity, and other relevant figures
- Preparing exhibits
- Obtaining court policies and procedures
- Assisting lawyers in preparing for trial by organizing exhibits
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Paralegal experience;
Family Law experience preferred - 5+ years of experience in drafting discovery per Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and Texas Family Law
- Typing speed of at least 50 wpm
- Strong numerical data skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to excellence
- Ability to meet deadlines based on written and verbal instructions
- Willingness to work overtime at least 20% of the time and be flexible to complete tasks
- Honesty, courtesy, and professionalism
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a team
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Compensation: $50,000 - $60,000 yearly
