Position: Real Estate Associate Attorney (Houston)

Overview

Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our Houston office. Sheppard Mullin is a global Am Law 50 full-service law firm with over 1,200 attorneys across 16 offices worldwide. The Houston office currently has over 40 attorneys who practice in a variety of areas including Business Litigation, Corporate Transactions, Real Estate, Finance, Intellectual Property, and more.

Sheppard Mullin’s nationally recognized Real Estate Practice Group is seeking a highly motivated mid-level (3-4 years) Real Estate Transactional Associate to join our dynamic team. This is a partner track position offering opportunities to work alongside esteemed leaders who are deeply committed to mentorship, talent development, and sophisticated client service. Responsibilities
  • Drafting and negotiating purchase agreements, commercial leases, and other real estate transactional documents
  • Conducting and reviewing title due diligence, including negotiation and clearance of title issues
  • Managing transaction closings, including coordination of colleagues, clients, and outside parties
  • Collaborating with partners and senior associates on structured acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing matters
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • 3-4 years of experience working on varied real estate transactions
  • Proficiency in drafting, negotiation, and document review, with keen attention to detail
  • Strong communication, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple concurrent matters
  • Team-oriented mindset and eagerness to learn directly from leading practitioners

The annual salary range for this position is $260,000 - $310,000.
