Houston, TX | In-Office (Monday-Friday)
Salary: $95,000 - $110,000 (may exceed for an exceptional candidate)
Schedule: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM (overtime required during trial prep and trial attendance)
Billable Hours Goal: 1,500 hours annually
Case and Document Management
- Support attorneys managing complex litigation matters from inception through trial and appeal
- Maintain and organize pleadings, correspondence, productions, and internal case files within the DMS and shared drives
- Create and maintain case status reports, discovery trackers, and privilege logs
- Perform large-scale case organization, including indexing/linking documents for trial and hearings
E-Discovery and Litigation Support
- Coordinate all phases of e-discovery (collection, processing, review, and production)
- Manage review databases and conduct quality control (deduplication, metadata verification, privilege workflows)
- Execute productions including Bates numbering, red actions, TIFF/PDF conversion, and load file generation
- Liaise with vendors, IT, co-counsel, and opposing counsel regarding production specifications and delivery requirements
- Troubleshoot file format issues and ensure productions meet court/client requirements
Trial Preparation and Trial Support
- Prepare deposition exhibits, witness binders, and trial notebooks (electronic and hard copy)
- Compile, label, track, and manage trial exhibits and exhibit lists
- Maintain trial presentation databases (Trial Director, Trial Pad, or similar tools)
- Coordinate courtroom logistics including equipment setup and technical testing
- Attend trial as needed to support real-time document presentation, exhibit management, and daily trial updates
Additional Litigation Support
- Assist with subpoenas, discovery requests, and discovery responses
- Support docketing and calendaring of deadlines and hearings
- Partner closely with attorneys, litigation support, and IT to maintain smooth case workflow.
- Bachelor degree strongly preferred
- Minimum 10+ years of litigation paralegal experience in a law firm
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Windows 11, and PDF editing (Adobe Acrobat, Foxit, etc.)
- Experience with case management software (Clio, Filevine, or similar)
- Experience with document management software (iManage strongly preferred or comparable DMS)
- Exceptional organization and attention to detail
- Self-starter mentality with the ability to anticipate needs and stay proactive
- Ability to work in-office Monday–Friday and support overtime during trial prep/trials
- Complex litigation experience (commercial, probate/fiduciary, employment, or similar) in state and federal courts
- Advanced experience with eDiscovery platforms such as Relativity, DISCO, Reveal, Logikcull, or Everlaw
- Lead trial paralegal experience supporting multi-day trials or arbitrations
- Strong cite-checking and Bluebook skills
- Familiarity with EDRM and best practices for handling confidential/proprietary data
