Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Overview
Under broad discretion, this senior compliance counsel role will report to either the Western Hemisphere Compliance Manager or the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer. As a collaborative leader among the Global Ethics & Compliance team, the successful candidate will have substantial expertise in compliance processes and investigations and will be responsible for advising the company concerning a variety of complex legal issues related to compliance and investigations.
Responsibilities- Undertaking a wide range of responsibilities, primarily involving the Company’s Code of Business Conduct (COBC) and compliance policies
- Conducting internal investigations, including formulating investigation strategies, analyzing evidence, and conducting investigatory interviews
- Participating in compliance reviews (audits) and risk assessments
- Evaluating and recommending process enhancements to drive compliance
- Assisting with special projects, benchmarking research, legal initiatives, and other administrative duties
- Licensed to practice law in the US, a J.D. or L.L.M. is required
- 5+ years legal experience in compliance, either as outside counsel or in-house counsel
- A Bachelors degree is required, while a Masters degree is preferred
- Willing to travel internationally
- Spanish and/or Arabic language skills
- Oilfield experience
- Both in-house and outside counsel experience
Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher-level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs.
