Overview
Foley & Lardner is seeking a 3rd-4th year associate (Class of ) to join the Commercial Litigation Practice Group in our Houston office. Qualified candidate must be a persuasive legal writer and oral advocate and will have experience with complex business litigation matters in state and federal courts.
Responsibilities- Conducting and managing written and document discovery
- Researching and drafting pleadings, motions and other court filings
- Conducting and defending depositions
- Preparing witnesses for testimony
- Appearing for status conferences and arguing motions in both state and federal court
- Participation in settlement conferences and negotiations
- Experience with trial preparation
- J.D. from an ABA-approved law school
- In good standing and an active member of the Texas Bar
- 3rd-4th year associate (Class of ) in Commercial Litigation
- Top academics required
- Strong interpersonal skills, exceptional work ethic, and ability to interact directly with partners and clients
- Well-rounded, dynamic, highly motivated lawyer who thrives in a sophisticated, busy, collaborative environment
- Ideal candidate exhibits collegiality, creativity, intellectual curiosity, and a view of the practice as professionally and personally rewarding
- Top academics preferred

Compensation and BenefitsThe expected salary range for this position is $260,000-$310,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, experience, internal pay equity at Foley, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
