- Review and analyze title documents, abstracts, surveys, and legal descriptions to establish the ownership of land and mineral rights.
- Prepare and review title opinions and curative materials.
- Conduct due diligence for acquisitions and divestitures, including reviewing transaction documents, identifying potential issues, and recommending solutions.
- Provide legal advice and support on a broad range of energy-related issues, including regulatory compliance, contract negotiation, and dispute resolution.
- Coordinate with landmen, geologists, and other professionals in the energy industry to ensure accurate and timely title work.
- Stay updated on changes in energy law and industry trends, and advise clients accordingly.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings, if necessary.
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice law in the state.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Title Attorney, with a focus on energy, oil, and gas.
- Solid experience in pre-litigation and transactional energy law.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex legal documents and advise clients on potential risks and opportunities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and industry professionals.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- A proactive approach, with the ability to anticipate issues and develop effective solutions.
- Proficient in legal research tools and software.
