About the RoleWe are seeking a Consumer Protection Litigation Attorney to join our expanding plaintiff-side consumer law practice, with a primary focus on wrongful repossession cases.
In this role, you will represent consumers whose rights have been violated by lenders, creditors, and repossession agents. You will handle matters involving unlawful repossessions, breach of the peace, improper notices, UCC violations, deceptive practices, and related consumer protection claims under both federal and Texas law.
This position is ideal for an attorney who is litigation-minded, statute-driven, and passionate about holding financial institutions accountable. You will work closely with clients from intake through resolution, develop litigation strategy, conduct discovery, engage in motion practice, and pursue favorable settlements or trial outcomes where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities- Represent consumers in wrongful repossession and consumer protection matters , including breach of the peace, unlawful seizure, improper notices, and post-repossession violations
- Litigate claims under federal and state consumer protection statutes, including FDCPA, FCRA, UCC Article 9, and the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA)
- Conduct case evaluation, legal research, and strategic analysis to assess liability and damages
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement demands, and agreements
- Represent clients in state and federal court , mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third parties
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient case handling and client support
- Stay current on developments in consumer law and wrongful repossession litigation
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
- Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing consumer law, civil litigation, or related plaintiff-side work
- Working knowledge of consumer protection statutes and wrongful repossession law
- Strong legal writing, research, and advocacy skills
- Experience litigating consumer protection or wrongful repossession cases on the plaintiff side
- Familiarity with UCC Article 9 and repossession-related litigation
- Experience handling cases in state and/or federal court
- Background in motion practice, discovery, and settlement negotiations
- Prior work with fee-shifting consumer statutes
- Membership in consumer law or trial-law professional organizations (preferred, not required)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage a litigation caseload with attention to detail and deadlines
- Clear and professional communication with clients and opposing counsel
- Strategic thinking and sound judgment in litigation and settlement decisions
- Client-focused mindset with a commitment to consumer advocacy

- Salary: $90,000 – $120,000 annually (DOE)
