Key Responsibilities
- Provide employment and HR legal advice to all functions in eir in alignment with company strategy and commercial goals.
- Liaise with external counsel, legal firms, and appropriate government agencies as directed.
- Day‑to‑day advice on employment law and HR matters to the legal function and the wider business.
- Direct and in‑depth involvement in all employment matters, including WRC, Labour Court, referrals, investigations, case management and decisions, consultations and outcomes.
- Advising on likely changes to employment law and the labour relations framework.
- End‑to‑end management of employment law litigation, including representation before employment fora and/or briefing counsel.
- Maintain an excellent understanding of Irish employment law and the workings of employment fora such as the WRC and Labour Court.
- Provide employment law advice to members of the Legal Department.
- Collaborate on legal matters including TUPE, outsourcing, and Employee Data Protection.
- Establish a close and supportive relationship between the legal and HR functions.
- Experience in a cross‑functional, general support role is desirable.
- Ability to make decisions impacting the relevant function outside of established procedures but within a policy framework.
- Strong information‑exchange skills and the ability to clarify complex information with tact and diplomacy.
- Personability and a fit for the team, organization, and structure as a core competency.
- Solicitor or Barrister with 5+ years of experience.
- Knowledge of Workplace Relations, Labour Court, and Industrial Relations landscape.
- Ability to operate in a fast‑paced and agile environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solutions‑focused mindset.
- Experience in employment law within a top‑tier law firm or in‑house team.
- Post‑graduate qualification in employment law is desirable.
