Overview

A well-established boutique litigation firm in Houston is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their growing team. This firm offers a professional, collaborative environment and fully covered benefits. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of litigation experience; personal injury experience is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet with clients to assess the details of their cases.
  • Listen carefully to clients' accounts of incidents or accidents.
  • Provide initial legal advice and clearly explain the legal process.
Legal Research
  • Conduct in-depth research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents.
  • Stay informed on updates in litigation and personal injury law.
Case Evaluation
  • Evaluate case viability and potential damages.
  • Assess factors such as injuries, medical expenses, and lost wages to determine claim value.
Document Preparation
  • Draft and review legal documents including complaints, petitions, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Prepare detailed demand letters for opposing parties or insurance carriers.
Negotiation
  • Negotiate settlements and advocate for fair compensation for clients.
  • Work with insurance adjusters and opposing counsel to resolve cases efficiently.
Court Representation
  • Represent clients during trials, hearings, and arbitration proceedings.
  • Manage all aspects of case preparation, including discovery and strategy.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active Texas Bar license required.
  • 1-2+ years of litigation experience (personal injury a plus).
  • Strong research, writing, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and client management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
