UTHealth Houston is seeking a Technical Accessibility Coordinator to ensure that the university's digital platforms, physical environments, and communication materials are fully accessible to all individuals, including those with disabilities. This role focuses on implementing and maintaining compliance with federal and state accessibility regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508, and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). The coordinator works closely with IT, facilities, HR, and academic departments to foster an inclusive environment that meets the needs of students, staff, and visitors.
We need a candidate with a solid technical background, someone who feels comfortable working side-by-side with developers and IT professionals to achieve these goals. You don’t have to know coding or how to read a scrape, but it will be advantageous to have knowledge of technology and websites.
This position will require someone to come on-site. There will be in-person meetings, and it is important to be hands-on with some of these modifications and programs. The physical office is located at 1851 Crosspoint Avenue.
