Job Description & How to Apply Below
Toshiba differentiates itself from its competitors through its commitment to quality and reliability. We build products to perform in the most difficult conditions. From raw material to the finished product, we assure exacting quality, engineering excellence and stringent testing to meet domestic and international performance standards.
Job Summary:
A summer intern will accelerate e-learning production along with course updates to include the Solid State Starter course, along with supporting Adobe Learning Manager administration, and updating procedures/branding for consistency. Added capacity ensures we maintain audit-ready training records, and avoid pulling Technical Trainers from customer-facing delivery. Without this resource, we risk schedule slips, compliance gaps, and slower course improvements. This intern is a cost-effective way to increase throughput and stabilize operations during peak workload.
Responsibilities:
Learning Management System (LMS) Support
- Assist with uploading, testing, and publishing engineering-related e-learning modules.
- Help maintain user accounts, course enrollments, and curriculum assignments.
- Support troubleshooting basic LMS issues and escalate technical concerns as needed.
- Perform quality checks on newly released learning content.
- Work with engineering subject-matter experts (SMEs) to gather updates for training content.
- Assist in organizing technical training materials, SOPs, and course files.
- Help maintain documentation, version control logs, and content libraries.
- Generate basic training completion reports for engineering leads and HR.
- Support audit-ready recordkeeping for engineering and safety compliance requirements.
- Maintain accuracy and organization of training data across systems.
- Provide first-level support to interns, engineers, and managers navigating the LMS.
- Help create user guides, quick-start instructions, and onboarding materials.
- Assist in communicating upcoming training requirements and deadlines.
- Contribute ideas to improve the user experience of engineering training.
- Research new tools, features, or methods to enhance online learning delivery.
- Support special projects such as virtual training deployment, video captioning, or course redesign.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Instructional Design, Education Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable with technology and willing to learn new systems.
- Clear communication skills and a customer-service mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow through on assignments.
- Familiarity with any LMS (e.g., Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, Cornerstone, Workday Learning).
- Interest in engineering workflows, technical documentation, or CAD-based work.
- Experience with content creation tools such as Articulate Rise/Storyline, Camtasia, or similar.
- Basic understanding of SCORM or digital learning standards (not required, teachable).
