Position : J

Employment Type: Full Time

Position Description

CGI's Houston Consulting team is building the next wave of data, analytics, and AI-enabled transformation services for clients across industries. We are seeking a Data & AI Analyst who thrives in ambiguous problem spaces, learns fast, and enjoys wearing multiple hats, delivery contributor, analyst, prototype builder, and practice builder.

You will work closely with senior leaders to help deliver client outcomes and accelerate the growth of our Houston consulting footprint through thought leadership, community building, and repeatable internal assets.

This position is located in our Houston, Texas office (hybrid working model is acceptable).

Client Delivery (primary)
  • Support delivery across the data lifecycle: data governance, data engineering, data integration, analytics/BI, and data platform modernization (cloud/on-prem/hybrid).
  • Build and test applied AI solutions and proofs of value (GenAI prototypes, ML experiments, agentic workflow concepts), including prompt design, evaluation approaches, and basic model risk considerations.
  • Develop client-ready outputs: problem statements, hypotheses, workflow maps, requirements backlogs, KPI definitions, and executive‑ready slides.
  • Contribute to solution design by translating business needs into technical approaches (data flows, logical architectures, integration patterns).
Practice Acceleration (growth)
  • Co‑author thought leadership (blogs, POVs, conference abstracts) and support the creation of client‑facing materials.
  • Help organize and run Houston‑based community activities: meetups, round tables, campus engagements, and partner events.
  • Support proposal development: research, benchmarking, storylines, and draft sections.
Practice Operations (enablement)
  • Support internal operations including drafting SOW components, maintaining templates, organizing knowledge assets, and supporting invoicing / project hygiene activities.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
  • Houston‑based (or willing to relocate) with the ability to work in a hybrid client/office environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Statistics, Math, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, etc.).
  • Demonstrated foundation in data + analytics: SQL proficiency and comfort working with structured datasets; at least one programming language (Python strongly preferred); familiarity with basic data modeling, ETL/ELT concepts, and visualization fundamentals.
  • Exposure to AI/ML or GenAI through coursework, projects, research, internships, or a portfolio (not necessarily deep industry experience).
  • Strong written and verbal communication (you can explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders).
  • Evidence of fast learning: cross‑domain projects, research breadth, competitions, leadership roles, startups, or rapid upskilling.
Preferred qualifications
  • Master's degree; MBA/PhD a plus (or in‑progress).
  • Any of: cloud fundamentals (AWS/Azure/GCP), Databricks/Snowflake, MLOps basics, or data governance frameworks.
  • Experience design / design thinking, product management exposure, or customer journey / service design work.
  • Public speaking interest (student org leadership, teaching assistant roles, meetup talks).
