Senior Business System Analyst

Our oil & gas client is seeking an experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst with a strong background in business applications and midstream operations. This role will partner closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to analyze, design, implement, and support enterprise applications, particularly GIS and inventory management systems.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of overall Business Systems Analyst experience
, including at least 3 years supporting midstream operations
, and hands-on experience with GIS and/or inventory management platforms such as Esri and Maximo
.

Experience with
Jira and Confluence is strongly preferred.

• Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams.
• Lead requirements gathering sessions, workshops, and stakeholder interviews.
• Analyze and document current-state and future-state business processes.
• Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical requirements.
• Support implementation, configuration, and optimization of:
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and implemented.
• Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) and support production deployments.
• Create and maintain documentation, including process flows, functional specifications, and user guides.
• Utilize Jira and Confluence for project tracking, documentation, and collaboration.
• Identify system enhancements, process improvements, and automation opportunities.
• Provide production support and troubleshooting for business-critical applications.

• 8+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role.
• 3+ years of experience in the midstream oil & gas sector.
• Demonstrated experience supporting business applications in operational environments.
• Strong experience with requirements elicitation, documentation, and stakeholder management.
• Ability to analyze complex business processes and translate them into technical solutions.
• Experience working in Agile or hybrid project environments.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.

• Experience using Jira for backlog management and sprint tracking.
• Experience using Confluence for documentation and knowledge sharing.
• GIS platforms (preferably Esri), and/or Inventory or asset management systems (preferably Maximo)
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
