POSITION SUMMARY
The Technical Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical support for GE imaging products to customer installation and service teams. The Engineer will serve on various groups to drive the representation of technical support teams throughout the organization. The Technical Support Engineer is required to demonstrate technical excellence, exemplify a high level of customer ownership and support, and provide engineering and systems leadership on GE related products.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Subject‑matter expert for multiple modality GE imaging camera products, providing national support and mentorship to Field Service Engineers.
- Ensures customer satisfaction is maintained through providing priority‑level call response.
- Provide troubleshooting solutions to customer questions using basic techniques both remotely and onsite.
- Initiate and respond to higher‑level support needs of customers alongside local Field Service Engineer teams.
- Responsible for keeping procedures, technical teams, and work instructions for the support and repair of imaging systems up‑to‑date and relevant.
- Provide service support by updating service tickets with instructions, including part numbers, service tools, and items required for the job.
- Oversee Critical Account sites, providing onsite audits and advanced service as necessary.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with customers, Field Service Engineers, and operations teams to support the gathering of information to identify customer and team needs or concerns.
- Collaborate with leadership and internal teams to prioritize tasks effectively and adjust shifting priorities as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline OR BMET Military Training
- 5+ years of experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar role supporting GE PET, CT, and Nuclear Medicine products
- Experience with PACS (Picture Archiving Computer Solutions) networking systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Must be able to lift, carry, or move up to 75 lbs.
- 80% sitting, 20% standing; ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Work is performed mostly in a quiet office setting with some travel to hospitals, clinics, or outpatient facilities, and the Catalyst Med Tech warehouse.
Work involves exposure to potentially dangerous and hazardous materials. Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, odors, loud noises, and confined spaces.
